Hinku Hongu Valley Trekking

General Information

Hinku and Hongu valley trekking is located to the west of Solukhumbu and rarely visited Rolwaling valley. The Hinku and Hongu valley is one those places which offers the most dramatic mountain landscapes guarded by high passes and flanked by crystalline 6,000 and 7,000 meter peaks. But there is no easy access to the trails; it requires some degree of commitment, skill and luck. The valley is within the Makalu-Barun National Park and Conservation Area. The park is home to amazing ecosystems diversity, from tropical rain forests to gigantic hanging glaciers. The park's wildlife includes musk deer, ghoral, Himalayan tahr, the elusive snow leopard and red panda. Roughly, 30,000 people of various ethnic groups and religions also live within the park boundaries.
