Hiking in Nepal - Namo Buddha Hiking

General Information

Namo Buddha a very popular Buddhist pilgrimage is located at the hill-top of Panauti 38 km. east of Kathmandu. History says that Lord Buddha gave his life to a starving tigress and her cubs in this very place. It is also home to Thrangu Tashi Yangtse Monastery founded by V.V khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche in 1978 which is now home to more than 250 monks. The hike to Namo Buddha follows through steep uphill newar town and small villages with huge rice fields which gives you a chance to see How Nepali people plant and harvest the crop.

Trip Itinerary

Day 01: Meet at Kathmandu Airport and transfer to hotel.
Day 02: Drive to hiking starting point and hike to Namobuddha. Explore the area and back to hotel.   (B)
Day 03: Final departure on your own destination. (B)
